AST6244 universal engine support tool enables the engine & gearbox assembly to be held in the desired position during removal of an engine mounting bracket. Used when undertaking such tasks as timing belt, clutch and alternator replacement.

Guide to use:

• Fix central crossbeam to the vehicle using the hook in a suitable hole or anchorage point on the subframe as close as possible to the engine. Use the nut to secure the hook to the central crossbeam.
• Use included band with hook only when there are no available holes or anchorage points.
• To use the band, ensure the hooked end is securely fitted to the subframe and the band goes over the top of the subframe. Then, fix the central crossbeam to the vehicle using the hook and the looped end of the band.
• Once the central crossbeam is fitted to the vehicle, raise the jack so the pad is on a secure point on the underside of the engine (not the plastic parts).
• Fit the threaded shafts in the rear of the support tool in the holes until both threaded shafts contact the body of the vehicle. The arms can be extended or retracted so this is possible.

Important Notes:

• Ensure the threaded shafts do not sit on brake or fuel lines, and they rest on the body of the vehicle only.
• Ensure the tool is correctly fitted, secure and safe, before carrying out any work on the vehicle.
• The safe working load limit (WLL) is 250Kg.
