AST6135  is suitable for cannister filters where the oil filter is an element type and is situated within a filter housing.  The AST6135 Oil Filter Wrench is required to loosen and safely tighten the housing cap to facilitate the replacement of the oil filter element in a wide range of vehicles. The use of an incorrect tool will result in damage to the cap and prevent the correct tightening torque to be applied. 

The positive connection between filter and wrench allows torque to be applied to the filter without damaging it. The 3/8" square drive allows the wrench to be used with a standard 3/8" ratchet or with an extension bar in applications where access is limited.
